The Effect of UV Killed Ascitic Fluid Vaccine on The Growth of Sarcoma

Abstract
The tumor enhancing factor was first noted by Flexner and Jobling (1907), and has been the subject of study by many investigators. It is well known fact that the enhancing effect essentially consists of an increased growth of tumor homograft in hosts pretreated with donor tissue or tumor tissue (Snell et al. 1946, 1948), and in a few instances the injection on the same day or one day after grafting led to progressive tumor growth.
Littman, Kim and Suk (1968) reported that they succeeded in complete immunization to Sarcoma 180 with UV-killed Sarcoma 180 ascites tumor cell vaccine.
The authors injected the same preparation on the same day or one day to 10 days after the grafting of Sarcoma 180.
The UV-killed Sarcoma 180 ascites tumor cell vaccine has no enhancing effect on Sarcoma 180 solid form.
